Course Description

This two-day, in-person training event is tailored for public safety officials and emergency managers. This program aims to enhance understanding of how private industry prepares for, responds to, and recovers from disasters and significant disruptions. Participants will have the opportunity to apply their newfound knowledge to refine their existing Emergency Management plans, ensuring that strategies and goals are thoughtfully aligned with the needs of private industry in their communities. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to collaboratively engage in a tabletop exercise with private industry partners, providing a practical demonstration of their insights and skills.

Course Objectives

  1. Explain how private industry prepares for, responds to, and recovers from disasters and major disruptions.

  2. Analyze gaps or misalignments between their current Emergency Management plans and the needs of private-sector partners.

  3. Apply best practices learned in the course to refine and strengthen their existing plans.

  4. Collaborate effectively with private-industry partners during a tabletop exercise to demonstrate coordinated response and recovery strategies.

  5. Integrate private-sector considerations into future planning to enhance community-wide resilience
