Executive Coordinator I

Ms. Cindy Martinez is the current Executive Coordinator I for the Institute for Homeland Security (IHS) at Sam Houston State University (SHSU). In this capacity Cindy oversees the departmental budget, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and accurate tracking of incoming and outgoing funds. She also plans and executes departmental events and manages onboarding and offboarding processes for personnel, facilitating seamless transitions and operational continuity.

With more than 20 years of professional experience—her role as an Administrative Associate at Prairie View A&M University—Cindy brings invaluable expertise in higher education processes, policy and procedures to the team.

In addition to her full – time role at IHS, Cindy is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree with an expected completion date of May 2026.
