Research Associate II

Julia Chialastri is an Associate Researcher II whose work includes quantitative and qualitative research, data management, and data visualization using Power BI. In her role, she develops clear, data‑driven reports that help translate complex information into meaningful insights for stakeholders.
Julia began her academic journey at Sam Houston State University (SHSU), where she was selected as a Raven Scholar as part of her undergraduate studies in agribusiness, geography and criminal justice. She continued her studies in criminology. Her interest in the intersections of technology, risk, and infrastructure was shaped early in life by her upbringing in agriculture, where she saw firsthand how technological shifts impact rural communities and essential systems.
Professionally, Julia brings experience from a Fortune 50 technology company, where she worked in Customer Intelligence with a focus on customer data management. Her work supported corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and enterprise‑level data quality initiatives. This experience strengthened her skill set in business intelligence and using data to guide impactful conversations across large organizations.
At IHS, Julia’s research centers on technology and critical infrastructure, including cybersecurity, datacenters, advanced technology ecosystems, and the evolving needs of agricultural and rural infrastructure. She is particularly focused on how high‑quality business intelligence practices can support better decision‑making, risk awareness, and strategic planning across these domains.
